The Yates ARC, through its parent organization, NYSARC, Inc., provides Corporate Guardianship Services for individuals who have a need for protective oversight. The Yates ARC Guardianship Committee will assist families and individuals in the preparation of Guardianship petitions and will offer assistance and support throughout the process. Once Guardianship is in place, the committee will assist with medical decision making and ensure the overall well being of the individual. This Guardianship is limited solely to that of the person and does not address the property of the person. Oversight is accomplished through monthly visits with the individual, and by maintaining contact with all other providers of service.

The ARC can act as:

• Standby Guardian
• Alternate Guardian

• Health Care Proxy
• Supplemental Needs Trust
• Wills
• Financial Planning for Persons with Developmental Disabilities
• Special Needs Planning for Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities
